Performance:
Pure brilliance. Miss Sarajevo is very nice, but the reason to download this concert is perhaps the best rendition of One ever. One is played with an orchestra, that grants so much beauty to this already beautiful song. The singing by Bono is flawless, he puts so much emotion into his voice, also I just love the toned down first verse and chorus, sounds great.
Publikum:
The Italian audience is known for its passion.. this gig is no exception. The audience clap and sign along Bono very well. You can feel the emotion they expressed that day.
Sound:
The sound is excellent broadcast, perfect mix between vocals, instruments and audience. Nuff said.
Gesamteindruck:
Absolutely no lowlights - just a brilliant concert with a great Miss Sarajevo and possibly best ever One. |

Performance:
IMO the performance is brilliant.
All songs are performed very well....
Highlights:
1) The Fly - cool version with Bono singing the final chorus (like in Verigo)
2) Angel of Harlem - awesome wedding march snippet
3) Stay - arguably the best ever version played by the band
4) Ultra-violet - Help snippet is breath-taking, plus the song is performed in a very emotional and dramatic way.
Publikum:
This is broadcast. We hear audience only when we are *allowed* to hear. While generally these moments are picked very well (listen to Stay, Angel of Harlem, Ultra violet etc) still I would prefer a little more audience.
Sound:
The sound is excellent plus.
IMO only 2 drawbacks:
1) The drums could be more punchy
2) The sound itself could be a little more raw, less soft.
Gesamteindruck:
IMO this is best ever bootleg concert of U2 performance/quality wise.
While there certainly ARE more emotional and better pulled off shows with more interesting set lists, I think this one does not deserve the critic sometimes die-hard fans pour on it.
All songs are performed decently. The Fly, Angel of Harlem, Stay and Help-Ultraviolet are true gems here. Given the excellent sound of this bootleg, I would rate it as one of the best unofficial live recordings of U2. |
